Should i let the psu control fans?

Should i let the psu control my case fans or not its a globalwin 420 saphire with 4 fan connector molexes on it and a TT shark with 2*120 fans?

You better not despite there is a fan only connector there.

I had an Antec Truepower 550W, and I hooked 4 fans on the fan only connectors. Guess what, when I boot up the system (after a few days), there is a large "pop" in the PSU, all the voltage rails are fine, except the fans are all offline, INCLUDING the internal fan in the PSU. I don't know if your globalwin will be the same as my Antec. If any of your fans are faulty, it may bring the PSU's fan circuit down. Then you will end up with an overheated PSU.

Since that circuit cannot be fixed yourself (unless you want to void your warranty), and RMA cost quite some money, you are better off buying a standalone fan controller (which I believe the TT shark already have one?)

change 1 of them over to run direct and the speed jumped from 850 on the psu fan rail to 1875 on the normal rail so wil change both tomorrow

You shouldn't fiddle with it, just let the PSU do its thing. Does it control it thermally or does it just run at a constant RPM?

I have an Antec 430W and it states in the manual no more than 3 fans are to be hooked up. I take it the 550W being a more powerful psu could handle the extra minimal load?

The 4 fans I hooked up are those 2000rpm 8cm slient fans, so I doubt they are that much of a load. Rated 0.12A I believe. Anyway, that was a painful experience. It took me 2 weeks and 15 pounds just to get the PSU sent to Netherlands for RMA (Since I did not buy it in UK)

I did not believe it too, but 0.72A on the fan circuit can blow it?

Just to play safe I don't use the fan connectors now.
