Hi
socket 754 are the following :-
2600+(1.6) to 3400+(2.0) semprons
2800+(1.8) to 3700+(2.4 1Mb) Athlon 64.
Your upgrade options depend on your current cpu.

my current cpu is a amd 3200 64 and the motherboard a asus K8N-E deluxe
I personally don't think any cpu upgrade on 754 would be worth it really, the performance increase isn't really justified. Most cpus would be a downgrade, I think only the 3400+ and 3700+ are the only processors which are better than yours. You would infact be better off buying more ram or a cooling system to help you overclock.
If your going to be spending money on a cooling system you might as well save it and get a socket 939 board and CPU and sell your old board and CPU on Ebay.
Nah - get an XP-120 + Decent Fan
I got my Newcastle up to 2.6GHz on my DFI LANPARTY UT 250gb board
