    Laptop question..

    Hey guys

My gf has just bought a new laptop and wireless router and it has set me off wanting to get a wireless PCMCIA card for my laptop. Thing is, my laptop is a smelly old Compaq Armada 7350MT (pentium 166, 32mb ram, 2.1GB hdd) with 2 type II PCMCIA slots and 1 type III. Will I be able to get a PC card that will run on this laptop ok? Its basically for MSN and general internet browsing...

    Chris

Should be ok, failing that a usb adapator is another option to consider..

Watch the OS ur using, Windows 98 is not too good at working with PCMCIA wireless cards. newer than that should be ok.

the laptop card or pcmcia card should be fine as its universal, been like that for ages. Any wifi card would work, linksys and netgear or dlink are the top dogs.

If you go for linksys you may have to check the specs as some of them will only work if the router has some advanced config.

I can tell you the linksys offering will work, my dad's got one running on a 166 Pentium 2. It works fine.
