how easy is it to change motherboard?

if i upgrade to a socket 939 from a socket 754

can i use my current grpahics card the ati 9800 all in wonder and can i use my sound card the Audigy 2?

can i use my current hard drive on its own?

will it be an easy transfer and also will I keep my current settings.

when i install all the componants and turn it on will it just work and load up windows or will i have to install the motherboard drivers and then set up the bouis and then windows will start

can you explain what i will have to do after I have installed the motherboard and installed the componants and when i turn it?

why do i keep on forgetting things. i have got a k8n-e dexluxe motherboard at the mo and i want to get a a8n-e. also i do not know if i will be able to use my 1gb corsair ram or not anyone know?

Upgrading to socket 939 will be pretty pointless unless you are going dual core.

It will be better to buy a new set of 939+NF4+PCIe motherboard, and sell your old set. Since you will be stuck with AGP again if you want to keep using that card, unless you buy a board with the newest ULI chipset (AGP+PCIe)

3200+ is pretty decent already so you don't have a lot of room for upgrade, a slight upgrade will cost you a fortune.

i will proberly get a uli chipset then and also i was going to get a dual core the 4200

ULi TGi wont be out at least for another few months..

At the mo, the best stock speed board on AGP for 939 is either the MSI Neo2 Plat or the Abit AV8 3rd Eye.. If you need a board that has enough integrated features to drive a space shuttle, go get ASUS A8V Deluxe rev 2.0...

DFI NF3 Ultra w/ AGP could be a good choice too, but You have to wait for another revision because the actual ones are giving serious problems.

Your R9800 Pro is a good graphics card, but If You have money for a VGA upgrade I recomend You to move towards to a Pci-E board, since You will be prepared for the future.

Your memory/Hard Drive/Audigy will work on the new board, You don't have to worry about that.

I think that even if the new system could boot into Your actual Windows installation it's always better to do a clean install.

My sugestion is that if You want to move to S939 You should go for an Nforce4 Board, an Asus will do it well if You're not a crazy overclock (I presume You aren't).
