    Wireless networking.. PLS help

    Hey guys

Bit of a scratching head situation. Basically, im trying to set up a home network for me and my gf (using one pc and one wireless laptop connection) and wanting to share the internet aswell as exchanging files between each other. So far I havent been able to do this using my belkin wireless router I bought but was thinking would I be able to do this if i had a wi fi PCI card on my PC? Would I also be able to use the internet through the wifi card, as at her house ideally I want to install a wifi card instead of paying another £45 for a router... Would this be at all possible?

    Cheers

    Chris

I think you need to figure out why the router isnt working first

Does anything work going through the router? wired or non wired?

Get the router working first (wired connectuion) then get the wireless link working. The range of the PCI cards is about 300 metres optimum, so unless her house is next door to you, it is unlikely that you will be able to access your router from her house!

You should not need a seperate program if you are both running the same OS.

    Don't waste you CPU time.

Make sure you're both on the same workgroup to save any extra hassle and if you can both get the net through the router and have shared folders you'll be able to do it no hassle.
