Since HEXUS brought up the SCAN free shipping offer... I've seen a bunch of new faces that are piling up on post.. some constructive.. some are just 'not so' constructive.. some even post in threads that are already a month old and no one has posted for weeks already.....
I'm just finding it a little 'off', don't you think?
yup but it was always going to happen when you set the post limit as low as 25.
i just hope noone goes mental oriental with it and it ends right before I'm ready to order my new rig :(

And what do you suggest we do to prevent it? I suggest that only users registered before August 15th, with a post count of 50 should be eligible.

Anyhow, yes it was bound to happen & a large proportion won't post after they've reached their target. But a good proportion I hope will stick around & contribute in a constructive manner. All goes to enhance a growing comunity :)
sawyen, I can understand ur concerns, however in the long run it will bring more dedicated people into the community, those here just for the offer will not sustain their posting levels and will disappear soon enuf. I would also not label all newcomerns as newb's, there are some of us, while yes we have started here because of the offer, have frequented hardware review sites for sometime and in my case have read Hexus for a long time.
I just happened to join, I didn't even know about the scan thing, I was using adslguide before but I like it here.
no worries.... I'm just directing this to ppl who's spamming or just posting plain rubbish.. 25 post is WAY WAY too low.. the limit should be 100 post or 50 the least. The date thingy is pretty good as well...
And yea.. this should be in GD.. but I coudnt help myslef... pressed the post thread too early before I can think correctly..
