Hi,
I have a MX 1000 at home, for precision and accuracy its great. I find the buttons dont always seem to click every time, but that might just be me or the settings.
Its a big improvement over other Logitech Cordless mouse the battery indicator is good, and there is an on / off switch on the bottom so you can turn if off if your leaving it for a long period of time.
The charger seems to work well unlike some of the other Logitech charges I have had where it was pretty hit or miss if it would actually start charging.
Overall I think its a good mouse, probably not worth the money unless you really NEED a new mouse as it is still quite pricey for what you get.

Never heard of anyone not having the buttons click all the time, the only thing i did was change the centre scroll click to default mode, not the zoom option, and it was fine.
99% of MX1000 owners will tell you they are a godsend.
The final 1%, well, they never saw this thread.

have 2 MX1000s here. i originally bought a standalone MX1000 for myself. However, then they bought out the MX3100 keyboard and mouse combo. I needed a new keyboard as well so i upgraded to the MX3100 set and gave the MX1000 mouse i already had to my missus.
The battery on the standalone MX1000 i originally bought is infinately better than the one which came with the MX3100 set though as this one will run totally out in 1 day. Using from 9am to ~ 2am.
This never happened when i was using the original MX1000.
all in all awsome mouse though!

it's a great mouse and ive never had any problems with mine over the last 10 months.
one thing i would say is that it is fairly heavy/big but precision wise its great with no lag.
Having seen that G7 pic I would still use my MX1000. The G7 is crippled because it lacks buttons. Don't be swayed by the glossy look. The 2 buttons behind the wheel will be imposible to use in a game - you just can't bend your middle finger enough to reach them, unless you have small hands. The MX1000 also has a nice button infront of the wheel which is really handy.
Secondly - only 1 side button. The optimum is 2. The MX1000 has 3 but again it's imposible to reach the forward button comfortably with the thumb when gaming (i have big thumbs!) so I just use the back and switch application buttons. 2p.

there are some issues with the earlier mx1000 with scrolling, sometimes they keep scrolling down until you click the up button, but appart from that i have found it to be a brilliant mouse, very accurate and responsive, ideal for both general usage and gaming.
The scroll problem is the same as a lot of mice I've used which are optical.Originally Posted by leejhamilton
Odd but not just restricted to the MX1000

Having 2 buttons behind the wheel seems odd unless they've moved the scroll further forwards. I have no problems with the forward button on my MX1000 but i do have big hands. Never use the app button.Originally Posted by iranu
One problem i have with the MX1000 is that recently its needed some fidling to get it charging. I've tried cleaning the contacts but no help. Also the details are wearing off (Baterry icon/MX1000 label)
Also, may I add Shameless, the G7 does not have custom weighting. For that you'll need to buy the G5.
