Any of these £40 PSUs worth using?

I know they arent very highly powered, but does anyone have any views on any of the following:

    370W Enermax Noisetaker
    380W Tagan
400W Akasa Ultra Quiet Pax Power (or something)

Im not gonna be using this so dont worry, nothing will dislodge my 480w Tagan fr some time.

    Just looked them up:

    Tagan - 22A (25A max) on 12v rail
Akasa - 14A (16A max) and 15A (funny dual rail thing)
Enermax - 18A and 18A (again funny dual rail thing)

Can someone explain to me the dual rail thing? I thought it was so you could use one for the cpu and one for a graphics card. What if your motherbaord doesnt have a second 12v connector thing? Or am i totally on the wrong track?

It depends how you want it, you dont neccessarily need 18A for mobo, but you might need more than 18A for your drives + gpu.

Well the system its going in will be very bare; A single hard drive and single dvd/cdrw drive. A radeon 9000 or similar, a couple of pci cards, 2 512mb sticks of ram. Thats about all.

However it will have a 3000+ venice in it which he hopes to OC a fair amount on home made water cooling (including home made block *rolls eyes*). So the processor needs as much current as it can get. Im tempted to recommend the Tagan as he likes how quiet mine is etc.

If he's overclocking a Venice anything that power will not be enough and it will not be stable. 480w+ will be fine tho

Dont talk such dross, venice uses less power than winchester etc. A quality 380W will be fine, see all the shuttle users with 250mhz overclocks and 0 issues.

I would go the for the enermax. they are quality PSU's which I have 2 and never had a problem. In fact the 435W coolergiant gave better readings that my Thermaltake 480W.

Personally I prefer Tagan PSU's extremely solid volts on all the rails never jump about at all. A solid and quiet performer. Also i would like to add that 380W should be plently for the setup

if its a fairly bare system you probably wont need as much power as any of those supplies can provide
tagan 480w is supposed to be very good tho, so the 380w should be decent

erm, dont chuck jeantech in with q-tec - they are rather different. Q-tec is a cheap brand and though I've found them to be reliable from experience (2yrs usage with no probs in several pcs) they are generally noisy and I've read about all sorts of problems people have had with their psus.

However, Jeantech is far far better, they make quality power supplies.
PC world have some sort of contract/agreement with jeantech to sell their psus - and I don't think such a huge company would back them if they made shoddy products! My 500 watt atx 2.0 jeantech psu handles my 6800gt and overclocked athlon xp system fine, and its also silent.

Have you ever used either brand? Or are you just judging based on what you've heard? Do a little research if you don't believe me.

Never had a problem with Tagan or Enermax. Might want to check if they are both PFC, which is meant to be more efficient but to me at least also seems to mean more heat (?!).

My tagan is hotter then my older enermax.
