    Question What would you pay for this?

    Or should i say, what do you think is the most should be asking for this system i have for sale?

    Pentium 4 2.66ghz
    768gig DDR RAM
    80 gig Maxtor HDD (brand new)
    Sapphire 9800 pro
    Pioneer 4x DVD writer
    Sony 48x CD writer
    Diamond extrernal fully hardware 56k Modem (about the best 56k modem)
    USB PCI card for 4 extra USB 2 ports.
    Black Coolermaster centurion II case with extra blue LED fan.

    Also included is an MS wireless optical mouse and wireless multimedia keyboard (version 2).

    Software included : WinXP home, Word, Works suite, Autoroute, Money and Nero - all legit CD's.

    I'd say £300 to £350, depending on where you sell it.

    Yeah, I agree, advertise it in a paper for £350 ono. Or even take it apart and sell the bits on ebay, you might get a bit more, but would be a lot of hassle.

    how much ram can XP 64bit take? If so i may be interested in the ram if you split it. Anyone know of any mobos that will take it? Is it dual channel? Have you tryed overclocking it? if so how far? Ill go see how much crucial are chrging for 768gigs at the mo brb

    Not sure about the op system, but with 768 GB Ram you are not far short of the 1 TB (1000 GB) limit on what the processor can address

    To get 768GB ram from crucial you would need 192 4GB Dimms at a cost of £2083.26 each giving a total value of: £399,985.92

    so I wouldn't want less than £400,000 for the whole system

    Well it's on sale in the classified forum. However, i had to remove some of the RAM for a Cray super computer i'm upgrading. Sorry.

    I'd say nearer £250. Don't really know many people looking for old base units when new ones are very cheap these days.
