So many wires
Does it really annoy anybody else as much as me at just how many wires are needed to make your pc work. I have wires for my speakers, controller, mouse, keyboard, monitor, printer, modem, camera, power. How the hell am I supposed to hide them all as they look so untidy.
-
Thats nothing
*looks at peripherals around desk*
Router (4x CAT from that + power)
Modem (1x fat NTL pipe, 1x CAT, power)
Primary monitor (dvi, power, usb)
Secondary (vga and power)
Joystick (usb)
Webcam (usb)
Keyboard and mouse (2x usb)
Light (power)
Speakers (5x speaker wire to dolby digital decoder (rear speakers have 10m long wire!), power, outputs to sub and PC)
Scanner (1x usb, 1x power)
Prin..
bored now.
Edit: I tidy them buy shoving them as far back out of view as possible, which still makes them look horrid :)

Wireless mouse keyboard and controller. Monitor cables are easy to hide, drop them down the back of the desk, or get a decent desk with a rat run. On my desk i have, 3 wires about 10cm each going to front 3 speakers, 1 to speaker control (again about 10cm) and one for my headphones, and thats literally all the ones i can see.

Same here, I used to get SO annoyed with wires. Now I have all sorts of peripherals lying about, but you just have to be creative when hiding them, like sellotaping speaker wires behind vertical parts of my desk etc. and stick every wire possible down the wirehide on my LCD lol. Wired keyboard here, but wireless mouse.

Buy yourself a profesional desk - mine is huge (almost 2 meters long) and has a cable tidy with 4 ways built into it along the back all hidden :) and cables can go down the legs to computers undernieth and to the mains :)
You can get them for bargin prices on eBay - catch is you need a van to move the thing, lucky a friend of mine has a van for work :)
-
You dont need a van to move a professional desk. A truely professional desk will come to pieces ;)
I've managed to tidy mine nicely, monitor is on an old pine kitchen table atm though....huge solid wooden legs to run the cables down behind and then the corner of a room and a pc case to hide all wores behind :p
Wires in sight:
Keyboard
Phone USB lead
Speaker volume control - 2 cables
2 pairs of headphones lying on table....thats it!

I shove my cables back as far as possible. Ones visible are, speak cables going from side of monitor, usb cable and iRiver charger from table to the side, and headset cables.

The only wires that are visible are my KVM switch and the wires coming out the back of my sub.
Wireless keyboard and mouse.
(If anyones interested, microsoft wireless mouse and keyboard doesnt work well with the Belkin USB KVM!)
