DDR2 to DDR Convertors!

From what I can tell (babelfish translation) this:

Is a DDR2 to DDR convertor.

I think it only works on gigabyte motherboards and reduces the clock frequency from 200 to 100MHz.

Its not exectly techy stuff because the VIA chipsets support both DDR1 and DDR2. The board just change the layout of the pins. As long as the 184 pins are connected to the chipset, even if its not a DDR slot it would work.

The memory controller is onboard of the Amd CPU's

So I am not sure if this is AMD compatible.

the M2 has been confirmed as having off Die controllers.

But if this works on current AMD CPUs it may make it cheaper for people to upgrade in the long run, of course we can't tell if prices are going to drop massivley, I bought my cheap 512MB PC3200 sticks for £90 each. They now sell for <£30

Where did you hear this?

I'd be very skecptical of anything saying AMD was moving to an off-die memory controler. There would be no way to avoid a major memory latency hit.
