    Reccomend me a router.

Must be reliable, reasonably in-expensive, easy to configure and preferably with an integrated hub/switch with at least 4 ports.

Got a D-Llink 504 atm, and I can't help thinking it's rubbish. Have to reset it every 2 months or so and it doesn't like doing a lot of things.

SpeedTouch 580 gives you all you want plus wireless should you require it. If you definately dont want wireless then the SpeedTouch 546 is a better choice

A few freinds have NetGear stuff and never seem to need to restart it.

I personally have a BT router (rebadged Efficient 5861) and it has been on for nearly 3 years now

    The best place to check for the dlink updates to the DSL-504 is the following ;

    http://www.dlink.com.au/tech/drivers...ers/dsl504.htm

I can't understand why companies who have global websites and localised websites do not keep all their sites up-to-date

dont update the firmware! you can not downgrade the firmware after, and the newer one for the 504 is worse. Dlink discontinued it becuase it was so crap. I have a spare 504 sitting on my shelf collecting dust, if anyone wants it....

Ebuyer do much better routers that lots cost less (my 504 cost £100 when I got it). Ive since moved over to blueyonder cable, which imo is much better anyway (and will soon be 10mbit, vs what was 0.5mbit for the same price on adsl).

The cable/adsl router I use (not a modem - has ethernet WAN port; no rj11 WAN port) is this:
    http://www.ebuyer.com/customer/produ...duct_uid=52897
Which is perfect, for cable users or anyone with external modem with ethernet port (most adsl dont ). Unles you count powercuts I dont think ive acctually needed to reset it yet...

You would want something like this if your modem doesnt have ethernet port:
    http://www.ebuyer.com/customer/produ...duct_uid=48449
OR if you dont need the extra ports (get a cheap external switch witht he bottom link)
    http://www.ebuyer.com/customer/produ...duct_uid=57418 (or here for £10 http://www.ebuyer.com/customer/produ...duct_uid=60371)

The Linksys WRT54G is well regarded. You can also use 'after-market' firmware, if you're so inclined. If it's an ADSL router you're after, consider the Netgear DG834G. Avoid the Linksys WAG54G like the plague.

If you don't need the modem LinkSys really are the only choice (in a sensible price bracket) - don't forget that Cisco now own LinkSys

    Netgear DG834 or DG834GT.

Both easy to setup routers and easy to configure stuff like Port Forwards etc...
