Is it worth plugging in the extra 12v (P4 type) plug off my PSU into the board as well as the main plug? It's a little bit in the way if I do, but I wanted to know if it helps stability at all or is just a failsafe.

It will work without it as i was using it like that, but i was advised to plug both in as it gives a more stable 12v line.
If I get some spiral wrap or similar (maybe some UV stuff) then I might do it, it's just a bit unsightly.... If only I'd never got a windowed side-panel, makes you think too much about what it looks like!
:( Just a shame NF7's layout isn't a little better, and that NB fan is way too loud and of really crappy quality (v2.0 at least).
Tell me about it, those NB are really carp, damn thing means i have to be without a decent computer for a while :(Quote:

Would a passive zalman NB cooler be sufficient on the nf7-s v2.0 ?
I've got one on my old mobo - but I'm not going to experiment yet (you know how these things go with me Ice Kay, normally pop).

Depends how far you wanna push it with oc'ing etc.Quote:

Do you reckong it'd be ok at 204FSB (that's the max I can do with my chip)?
Bruno
:D IMHO definitely. A good passive solution cools just as well as a small active solution, the diff in noise is well worth a drop to 400FSB anyway (if you needed to) ... many 400FSB capable nForce2 use only a passive solution and that's probably inferior to a Zalman esp if you apply it nicely.
I've got one on my old mobo - just need to get the courage to swap it over. I've had a bit of bad luck with a couple of motherboard before..... I'll post a pick of the last one when I get home.
That'll be good. :DQuote:
