Recently, I heard someone got PC version HALO.. I wonder the graphic performance by PC can be better than XBox? What do you think?

Most of the reviews I've seen have specifically stated that the performance of the PC version sucks, with pretty appalling framerates.
i heard it sucked also
Guys,
As much as I value PC game magazines have you actually got any experience of it yourselves?. If you check the games forum on here you will see a very similar thread, with a much more detailed look at this comparision.
Comments in there from people with the game suggesting it plays very well on a radeon 8500 which flies in the face of all stuff discussed so far.
My personal feeling however is that Halo is still a fine game, slightly dated due to the fact that is now coming to the PC 4 years after i initally watched movies of it at e3 in 1999.
Still a great game in single player, i doubt multiplayer will take off that much, but i still reckon a purchase is in order.

Id have to agree with TiG, its a good but not excellent.
Cant say it has personal had me captivated, but it passes the time
even with super fast cpu and decent display card like radeon 9700?
mate, seriously, this thread is pointless, of course it will be better with faster cpu's, and better gfx hardware, the use of mouse and keyboard, please stop spamming.Originally posted by skly77

Well, I've got a 2600+ (running as a 3200+), 512mb Crucial DDR400, a Sapphire Radeon 9800pro (overclocked) all on an ABit NF7-S board.
I get good frame rates, but not amazing, at 1024x768, with some eye candy turned on. Of all the games I played, Halo is the only one that wont run perfectly, at 1600x1200 with everything on. Now, being 4 years old, and running perfectly on the Xbox, this obviously isn't because it's the most demading game. Just a slightly dodgy port.
Having said that, it is playable; and even quite smooth, if you've got the hardware to run it; its just sloppy, and really could have been flying on even mid-range PCs.
Good game, lucky that Half Life II was delyaed, or I doubt many people would have even noticed it had been released.
Messing about in the Warthog is fun with the keyboard and mouse.
Mate hes been warned by me already (although i aint a mod) just telling him its classed as spamming. Hes had his post counts reset twice now i think, should stop him from doing it anymore as it gets him knowhere.Originally posted by Russ

As for the rad 9700 pro it should be able to play the game well with a fast processor, but seing as my mate uses a 3200+, 1gig ram and a rad 9800 pro he thought he would get higher frame rates than what he is getting. But then again ive heard this alot on other forums about poor frame rates on top systems.
Apparently there is a readme with the game that has some command line switches for switching the Shader type and should be used by older gfx cards. (just what I heard, can't confirm)
edit : I believe the default without switches is this most complicated type. Also you need to turn off the sync option to enable > 30fps output for which the game was originally designed.
i think this is going over the top, ok there is some spamming but if ur gonna jump on ppl cause it says 5 posts next to their name and their topic isnt grade A, ease up a jeez up!
Oh and my m8 told me his gf4mx440 runs the game fairly smoothly with medium detail.

PC all the way baby
Korky, it did say circa 40 posts by his name, but its been zeroed (twice??) because of pretty pointless posts and threads like this one.
I completed the BETA a month back now ...
Enjoyed the game although never played the XBoX version so I don't have much to compare it with ... ran well even on my MX440! (Although my dad couldn't run it v well on his 9800)!

still uses low rez textures from console version.
looks ok in 640x480 with AA an AF turned up full.
High rez u can see how bad textures are, and its jerky. Prolly fix the jerky fps with a patch but textures are prolly always gunna suck imo.
