    Creating a RAID on SD31P

Ok I have been hammering all night at trying to get this to work on my SD31P.

I follow the directions User's Manual "ICH 7R RAID" with no luck at all.

When I try to load the Intel Matris Storage RAID Edition software I get an error at load time saying "Icompatible Hardware. This software is not supported on this chipset. Please select 'yes" to view the readme file for a list of supported products. refer to section 2 titled 'System Requirements'

    Does anyone have any ideas?

Probably a long shot here but did you load the drivers for the RAID controller during setup of the Operating System ?

I really thought I did. Is there any way to check that they are really there?

Right-Click "My Computer" then go to "Properties". Click the "Hardware" tab then click "Device Manager". See if any listed items have a Yellow Sign with an Exclamation mark in it.

Hmm, so the drivers were loaded from the disk. Are you sure they are the 64 Bit drivers and not the 32 Bit ones ?

You might want to try and compare them from the ones listed on the Shuttle Website.

I did use the ones from the 64 bit disk that was provided. Can I instal these again somehow?

I'm stumped as much as you are, but have you tried the drivers from Intel ?

I went there also. I am thinking I should send it into Shuttle but I am hoping that that will not be needed.

I'm sorry I couldn't help you resolve your problem. You might want to try the Sudhian Forums where there are some SD31P owners & you could also email Shuttle regarding this. Last resort would be RMA but i'm hoping it doesn't come to that. Either way good luck .

Hey thank you for all your help.

So it turns out that the drivers I was using were bad. Oh well got the good one and got it loaded correctly.

My only problem now is that I am using win xp pro x64 edition and I can not flash my bios because the flashers do not work with x64 OS. But 180 duckets later and I can purchase just XP PRO.

Learning a lot, and having fun pullin hair out

Yup there are problems with Winflash on XP-64. Try one of the boot cd images that can be found on xpcbios.

I'd also maybe invest in a Bios Savior before doing any flashing in case it dies on it you. I bought mine from flashbios for my SN25P. It was the RD1-PMC4 Model but it might be different for the SD31P. Just to make sure I would ask the gurus on the Sudhian forum.

Anyhows if you take it step by step then you should alright. In any case I wish you the best of luck.
