    Hi there!

Anyone know anything about this board? http://www.techfever.co.uk/products.asp?recnumber=2175
Would I be better of with a DFI?
Was thinking of a amd 3000 or 3700 san diego?

    Cheers,

    Phil

Seems to be alright but you'll have trouble finding a uk retailer who stocks it. Dfi is pretty tried and tested as the best for overclocking so may be a better bet.

As for processors, 3000+ should overclock ok but its a gamble whether you can get a good say 2400mhz result or excellent say 2900mhz result. The 3700+ sd has a bigger cash so is a bit more competent when things get busy in games and should overclock much better. However it is twice the price but won't offer twice the performance for the same speed. If you've got the cash go for it but if not its a hard call.

this motherboard, the jetway, seems to be as overclockable than DFI. And it also have a good performance in default. I thinks this is a good choice

Actually though one point to think about is the fact that dfi have dfi-street which is pretty useful for support and overclocking but I'm not sure that Jetway will have anything at all similar.

It is back in stock at Techfever, anyone got one yet?

The problem I have with DFI is the price of the memory they recommend for it,I did not think I was going to be paying £150 squids for 1GB of ram......

Although I don't know how the Jetway would compare on this front?

They're both based on the NF4 chip that should be ok for most memory.

The reason that DFI reccomend good memory is that thats what you need for overclocking. Value/cheapo generic RAM will hinder overclocking quite substantially
