Thank you very very much,
Nows when I let you in on the secret that it was 200GB worth of My Docs, My Pics, DVDs, Music and everything I have. Tried to copy it to another drive and deleted it from mine before realising that it hadn't transferred right. Fortunately it wasn't my OS drive, it was another one, so have downloaded that programme and running it now from the other one.
"Files Found: 62000" ARGHHHH!
Hopefully all will be sorted eventually,
This is turning out to be a really interesting day...... !

Excellent bit of software!
I gave up on smart undelete because without registering it you can't do anything.
Going to try Runtime GetDataBack now.

GetDataBack is teh schnitz!
Glad you got it all back. Lesson learned eh?

I hope nobody minds me bringing this up again....
But if you have a drive in your computer, that isn't the boot drive, and you delete files from it. If you then reinstall windows onto the boot drive, in theory without touching the one the files were on, can you then recover files from it?
Reason for this is that I had everything backed on my 400GB storage drive, then I got my raid drives working, then transfered it to the raid drives, so deleted lots from storage drive, then windows installation on raid drives corrupted, and now want it all back again if I can.
I gotta do something to stop this happening all the time!

I was going to ask before I wiped it, but having now done some checks, it would appear that it is corrupt and I am going to have to, so I'm just gonna hope it works. Fingers crossed!
I'll let you know in a few hours!

If nothing was written over the files, you can recover them. Installing windows on one drive/partition will not touch anytihng on other drives.
