    Question Asrock 939Dual-SATA2 M/Board - Any thoughts

Has anyone used one of these boards yet? Are they any good, how well are they made and are they as fast as a nforce 4 board.

    http://www.asrock.com/product/product_939Dual-SATA2.htm

The thing that has me interested is i have a two month old 6600gt agp card and dont really want to replace that just yet, and this board offers the chance to upgrade to pci-e at a later date

Or does anyone know of any other m/board manufacturers using the ULi 1695 chipset yet?

Saw a review of a jetaway one as well, but not seen it in the UK. I think the asock board sounds great, and will be getting one myself (but maybe in a few months).

Aye the board does look good. In fact too good to be true, what i think we need is for hexus to do a detailed review on it comparing both the agp and pci slots and possibly also comparing it to an equivalent spec nforce 4 mobo.

OCWorkbench have a done a full review of it here. But, yeah it would be nice if Hexus could do a detailed review of it.

Have used a couple of asrock boards in the past and they have been fine, my only worry is how long they will last. They seem to make the boards dirt cheap but on the earlier versions at least so far so good in the main. I have read somewhere that an AGP and PCI E combination motherboard does slow down the PCI E side of things. I cant remeber what the article said word for word tho. But it was something to do with the pcie slot running of the same lane as the agp slot and because agp is slower there is an adverse effect on pcie.

Other PCIe-AGP combination boards do.. yes. But not this one - because it's using the very clever Uli M1695 chip.

the HK review outlined that the board scored pretty well versus Nvidia's NF4 Ultra.. Overclock saw 280MHz HTT as well.. not bad for a board that cost under £50.. My impression on Asrock is getting better every minute..

EDIT: They even have a riser port that allows M2 chips to fit next year.. pretty nifty.. not bad Asrock..
    Me want Ultrabook
