    Geil 2GB Vs OCZ 2GB

Hi im trying to decide on 2 GB dual channel memory for an A64 X2 system I will assemble within a month.

I can get the Geil Value Dual Channel PC3200 400MHz DDR http://www.geil.com.tw/portal/product_400_tv_dc.php for about £140-150.

I can also get the OCZ EL DDR PC-3200 Dual Channel Platinum http://www.ocztechnology.com/product...annel_platinum about £180.

I heard the geil memory can run at 2.5-3-3-8 and the ocz can run at 2-3-2-5. I’m not going to be going past the 210 MHz mark so my question is what will be the difference in performance between the memory at the default 200 MHz speed.

I also have 1 stick of corsair 1GB CAS 3 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820145505, since I don’t have my motherboard yet I can’t test it out, but I heard they can also run at CAS 2.5 as well. Does anyone have this memory running at CAS 2.5 on the DFI lanparty nf4 series of board

From experience I can tell you that mixing DDR brands isn't always a good idea regardless of their timings!

I've been using the Geil Value 1GB 3200/DDR400 for 3 months and no complaints here - running Cas 2 @ 1T/stock speeds. Imo unless you plan to over clock I'd go with the Geil.

I'd get Crucial Ballistix Tracers PC4000

    VERY good stuff.

If budget not big enough for that - get the GEIL

I've been monitoring two of those ocz dual channel kits on ebay. They seem to go for £180 including shiping to the uk, sellers seem trust worthy too!
