    Question D.F.I setup?

    Hi there,

looking for a new setup, primarily for gaming and o,c'ing(i hope)!

This is what I have come up with so far:

Gigabyte 3D Aurora Aluminium Chassis - Silver
    AMD Athlon 64 3000+ Venice 90nm (939 Pin) CPU - OEM
Patriot Dual Channel 512MB PC3200+ XBLK DDR (2x256MB) Extreme Bandwidth / Extreme Low Latency Kit
    DFI LanParty UT nF4 Ultra-D PCI-E (Socket 939) Motherboard

What my main question is about is memory,as over on dfi street there is a hell of a lot of mind blowing questions/answers on memory, and i think reading it all has fried my memory!!
Also what p.s.u. to get with all this??Graphics card?
    errrr help.....

    Phil

I would reccomend the OCZ Gold PC3200 1gb kit. Great stuff and ges well on DFI.

Either that or OCZ Platinum Rev 2 1gb kit

For 2gb you need Crucial Ballistix Tracers - though they're a hefty price

Tell us what your graphics budget is: then we can reccomend a nice one (7800GT/GTX if you have the cash)

    PSU:

PCP&C/OCZ or Tagan go well on DFI boards

    Hi

due to cash constraints cant really stretch to a 7800GT/GTX(at the mo).So would need a little cheaper card.
I know OCZ an Tagan what/who are PCP&C?

Definately get at least 1gb of ram. A tagan is always a good psu, very reliable. The new sli ones are especially good.
    Not around too often!

PC Power and cooling. Probably a little out of your budget (but check for sale forums and there's one there for £90 IMO the best PSU's out atm.

OK then: x800 pro or 6800GT

PSUs: The DFI board sucks a lot of juice. Make sure you get at least 480W, with native 24pin power connector. I had a Tagan ATX2 PSU, but since upgrading to OCZ PowerStream have found my system a lot more stable. The newer Tagan SLI version do seem improved over the one I used however, so please don't take this as a Tagan bash! Enermax is also another alternative. PC&P seem to be the dogs bo**ox, but come at a premium price.

RAM: OCZ have a close relationship with the DFI guys.

Abit boards and Asus Premium boards have heatpipes.
