Antec P180 with Antec TPII 550?

I own an Antec P180 case, and I'm having quite a hard time choosing the PSU. My mobo is an MSI K8N Neo4 Platinum which has the 12V power plug at the top, so I'm not sure which PSU has long enough cables to reach that. Will the Antec TPII 550 be able to fill my needs? Thanks.

The Antec P180 case places the power supply beneath the mobo (unlike most cases). That is, the psu is near the floor, while the mobo is mounted above it.

That requires long psu cables for some mobos. That is, some mobos are designed with the power connector on the edge of the mobo nearest the psu, for shortest power cable lengths. But when the relative positions of the mobo and psu are reversed, as in the P180 case, then this requires longer power cables for those same mobos.

I don't know whether that requires a different cable, or whether the usual psu cable is sufficient. (???)

However, the powersupply you are considering is also from Antec. So we can presume (???) that Antec already thought of this, and will include longer psu cables with their power supply. (???) You might contact Antec and ask them.

(Let me know how it turns out, because I'm considering getting that same combination of case and psu from Antec.)

I remember reading a post in silentpcreview where someone had bought the P180 and a SmartPower 2.0 psu and the cables wouldn't reach the motherboard. He had contacted Antec and been assured they would reach or were a certain length.

The TruePower is a different psu but maybe the cables lengths are the same?

I'll try searching the SPCR forums, thanks. I won't buy any PSU until I'm 100% sure it would fit.

    EDIT: from SPCR forums

I just installed an Antec Truepower II 550 and the main ATX + 4 pin connector are both over 20". The 4 pin will stretch out flat to 21" but the main, sleeved cabling has a slight bend/twist in it that I didn't want to pull too tight - so it meaures around 20" as is.

Both of these cables will actually extend from the bottom, mounted position to outside the top edge of the P180, so any MB should be ok.

I installed it wth an Epox 9NPA+ Ultra.
So I guess everyone should be ok, but I'm getting the extention to be on the safe side.
