    More Ram or Faster Ram

Ive got an Athlon 64 Winchester 3200+ running on 1gb of Geil Value memory in dual channel, ive been running this for about 6 months now, and have never attempted to fiddle about with the timings at all, becuase i dont know how, and i didnt think it would make the difference.

I have noticed that i have a lot of system tray icons and i have a lot of programs running in the background of windows xp, i have tried to cut down on some, but i actually do use all of them, the problem is, is that they are slowing down my computer when i want to play games.

Im going to be upgrading next month with another HD and a new NF4 motherboard, but the question is should i get another gig of Geil Value memory, or perhaps sell the gig that i have at the moment and get some faster memory?

What does everyone think is the right choice?

    Thanks

getting 4 sticks will force u to run 2T @ 400MHz.. For a Winchester, its even worse.. you can only do 333MHz..

You could just sell that old memory and get a new 2x1Gb kit.. I run 4 sticks (4x512) on a venice... and I can only *barely* run 2T timings @ 200MHz..
    Me want Ultrabook

I just started working on Autocad stuff, its just madness which 2GB memory is not enough (Though I heavily multi-thread my system with all sort of programs which drains up loads of memory)

2T command cuts the bandwidth by a lot, except that its not that bad.
    4x1GB is damn nice

So you think it would be wise to get rid of the 2x512mb sticks i have at the moment, and get the same geil value 2x1gb, and that will run better?
