    Are Q-tec PSUs good?

    hey guys,
I have 600 quid to blow on a new computer and I was looking around on overclockers and came across the Q-tec PSUs! For a 600w triple fan it is like around 20 I thought this was a azmaing prices, because they seem like a good company aswell. But are they actually good? I am hoping to get SLI 6800GTs in the future so I need a lot of wattage. The problem is, I dont have enough money right now to buy a expensive PSU, and this seems like the best deal. Does anyone have one to tell me wats its like?
    thanks

Just search for q tec on this (or any other forum) and you'll find loads of threads basically saying qtec are crap. Power supplies of death. Wouldn't even give my girlfriends mother one...

A psu is one of the most important parts of a system as a dodgy one can destroy your entire computer in one. Saving £40 now isn't that good a deal when you may have to replace components if they get fried or suffer because of the poor voltages and over stated power levels that cheap psus have.

Well lets put it this way, if you do buy the qtec, chances are you will practically blow about £600 on your new computer, the qtec will do it for you. Spend the extra and get an Antec, Seasonic or Tagan. I'm sure others will agree with me, they aren't the best psu's. Actually I think they are the worst, have a tendency to blow and take your computer with it.

they are well known for setting fire or exploding, usually taking a good many components with them

Q-tec creators should be flogged for their poor quality psu's a bit extreme i know but its really irritating how they can sell poor products, 2 of my mates had psu's either burn up or surge thus knackering their pc's

    Very good Agent. lol

Many moons ago when I didn't know anthing about pc's I made the mistake of buying 500w Q-tec psu. It predictably blew up, taking the cpu & motherboard with it. I think it says alot about any shop selling these pieces of cr@p.
