    Build Me a PC!

    Hey guys,
I am selling my computer for 450 quid, and I have 150 quid in my wallet, so 600 pounds altogether. Can somone give me ideas of a whole PC I could buy with that money. I want a good gaming pc that should last me 2 years! I want a PCI-E MOBO and I need a TFT monitor, preferably a 19" one.
    thanks alot guys

Buy a computer like your old one for £450 then spend the extra £150 upgrading it.

    or

The only chance you have to get a *reasonable* new pci-e computer with TFT for £600 is to watch the bargain section and pick up on a dell 'misprint' deal. And be prepared to wait.

    psu £40 Akasa 400w
    case £20 Original Gaming Bomb
    cpu £90 3000+ stock cooler
    939 mainboard £50 ULi ASrock 1695
    (see anandtech review this motherboard)
    hdd £45 80gb/120gb
    ram £60 1gb
    gc £70 9800pro
    cd/dvd £20
    kb/ms £20
    case fan £10

    415 base
    175 17" tft viewsonic vx715

you could probably save on the tft and go pci 6600gt

it won't last 2 years but you can upgrade it alot.. all the latest standards and sockets

    £600

heh you arent really going to manage that but it depends on your version of a decent gaming pc. The thing that throws it all out of kilter is your need for a TFT and the cost of graphics cards these days. It would have helped if youd given us an idea on your expectations about games capability. You dont really seem to be bringing any extra money to the pot but still want a tft. Where does the improvement come from if you expect more?

Custom PC recently did an article about making a gaming pc for £500.but they cannibalised bits and knew how to overclock. The minimum gaming card i would get i a 6600gt.

Try Mesh who have a decent pc plus tft for 599, although pay the extra £50 and go 6600gt.

    What about your power supply?
Kopping out on the video card is a bit misleading as it can cost as much if not more than the CPU.
