    Venice 3000 overclocking

I've been having a problem with overclocking my 3000, that no one so far has been able to solve. First, here are my specs:
    3000+ Venice
    DFI Lanparty Nf4 SLI
    OCZ pc3500 ram 2.5-3-3-7 2.7v (http://www.newegg.com/product/produc...82E16820146950)
I assume that's all the important stuff
My problem is that when I overclock to 240 fsb - which is supposedly mild for this processor, even on stock cooling - I either can't boot into windows or everything is extremely unstable. My settings at 240 are: Ht multi at 3x, Dram volt at 2.7-2.9 (tried through the range), divider at 1/2 (ddr240). I took an Nvidia monitor screenshot at this setting (http://www.picturehosting.com/images...t/moniter.jpg). At this scaled back setting, it's a bit more stable but if I up the divider even one step, it gets unstable again. The weird thing is that the monitor shows my ram at ddr240 performing way out of the acceptable range, which I think means my dividers arent working right and I'm actually running at ddr480. I really have no idea what to do...Another odd thing I noticed was that even at my default settings, the ram and core are being stressed according to the monitor (http://www.picturehosting.com/images...t/monitor.jpg). I know the fsb is at 217, but the results are the same for fsb 200. Could this be a cause of the problem, and what would be a solution to it? Someone please help, I'm going insane trying to figure out what's going on!

    Hi
One of the problems could be that you have the wrong bios for your memory. There are three versions of the bios that are released when a new one comes out. version 1 is usually for tccd memory version 2 is for utt bh-5 or any high voltage memory, and version 2 is typically good for both types of memory.

I think for your type of memory version 2 would be a good idea to try. alot pf people are praising the 6-23 bios, so possibly start there.

Another thing i noticed you have the memory voltage the vdimm at 2.7v. Im not sure exactly what type of memory you have ocz 3500 might be bh5 or ch5 or some other form of high voltage memory. High voltage memory usually works best at 3.0v to 3.4v of vdimm. All i can say is try upping vdimm to 2.8 - 2.9 and see if that gives you anymore headroom.

The ram is 2.6v, so I think 3.0+ might be unsafe, but I'll look into the other BIOS versions

Try use the 5/6 divider instead of the 1/2. Most venice does not like low dividers.
You can also try to increase the async latency to 8ns or 9ns to see if it helps

I've tried many a divider, and 5/6 didn't work. I couldn't boot into windows most of the time.
