    Psu suggestions for under £40

    Hello guys.

I recently decided to upgrade my generic psu that came with my I-Cute case.
All the online psu-deciders that I have tried seem to think that my power needs are around 360-370 Watts.

    I'm running an Athlon mobile (Barton) 2500 @ 3200,
    2 ide drives
    1 sata drive
    2 optical drives
    6 90mm fans
    1 thermaltake volcano 12 hsf
    1 fan controller (no lcd)
    1 soundblaster audigy
    2*512 pc3200 ram
    1 floppy
    1 ide raid pci card

Now, my budget is not big, I can only afford to pay £40 max, for the new psu.
    Are there any good suggestions?
    Thanks in advance!

This is a little bit more than you said - but its pretty damn good: Antec Truepower

The Noisetaker 370w clicky would be ok I would think.

Some pretty sweet Tagans in approx price bracket: here

    Just don't get a generic or a Q-Tec one

Fortron Blue Storm 350 from Pixmania at £32.

    My system was

XP2400, 768mb Ram, 2 HD, 2 Optical, 2 120 fan, fan controller, floppy drive, network card, 80mm panaflo

and it ran fine on a quality Fortron 350.

Tagan or Enermax are the only ones worth buying at this price range that'll give you decent reliable service.

Does anyone know anything about Akasa PaxPower3 PSU's? they seem to be excellent value for money, especially the one featured here:

    Any feedback?

One of my friends has an Akasa, not sure if its that exact one, but he's had no problems with it. Might be worth looking at a couple of reviews first tho. As your overclocking, I would suggest you buy the best PSU you can afford, as they really do affect system stability.

    Hope this helps

the paxpower seems to have had a few good reviews, noticed a few system builders have used it as well for review systems.

got a paxpower myself when it was on offer at OCUK with a nice blue glowing fan, nicely put together, plenty of connectors, braiding on most of them, quite and comes well packed with some nice screws.

as for performance, my only complaint so far is that my 12v line is down to 11.55v but it dosent seem to be bothering anything

Go for Enermax or Antec. Ebuyer have a good range of Antecs whilst Scan have a good range of Enermax
