    Card won't fit

Bought a Belkin Wireless adapter for my brother's system ( http://www.ebuyer.com/customer/produ...duct_uid=45622 ) and it won't fit in the pci slot properly, I'm thinking it's cut slightly bad because it wouldn't fit in 2 pci slots tried. Mobo is an asus 754 deluxe k8 something

It should be ok, sometimes its hard to push them in the slot. WHen you say it wont fit, do you mean that the slot is mismatched with the card? Or it simply doesnt push into the slot?

If it doesnt push in try a little more force...

    Hope this helps

    Chris

It goes about halfway in then seems to get stuck, my dad used to be a system builder and he'll be home soon so I'll post back if he doesn't sort it. It probs just needs a push but I don't really know how much to apply incase something breaks as I've never had this problem before.

Some cards you need to push really really hard for them to go in. Just use a little force

Ahh, a tacky Star Wars related joke.

I remember having a similar RAM related problem. In my first build I spent hours deliberating on how much more to push. I really did not want to end up buying another stick of that stuff.

Well my dad pointed out that you shouldn't use a soft matress as a surface to place a computer on . So it felt like I was applying more force than the card was taking. It's in now

Yeah, the only thing you have to watch somtimes card foul on the mobo.
    - particularly cards that have cramed an extra socket on the back by having the card come down again after the contacts.
    - although usaly they will fit into the next one along, or somthing.

Maybe the motherboard hasnt been mounted straight, sometimes this makes putting PCI cards in a problem, they seem to go only half way in at one end.
