    New SFF machine wanted.

    Folks,
I'm looking to go the small form factor way for a new room install that I plan to do, this will be for playing games on a Plasma screen. [note money no object].

Looking for a Shuttle that will do:

Intel with Intel chipset 3G++ HT
    Onboard 10/100M
    Firewire
    USB 2.0
    Memory Stick Pro
Optical Output for multichannel audio [DD/DTS etc]
    1Gig memory [which type?]

Also need recommendations on a large quiet Hard disc drive,
the best video card, heard alot about the new Asus Radeon card

    Thanks for the help,

    Regards,
    Neil.

the sn75g2 coming out in the near future (like next week or something) (edit: based on the intel canterwood chipset btw) will suit ur needs...as for HD ... a SATA 160gb Seagate Barracuda would suit u fine, u can get 2 and run them in raid 0 i should think. The new 9800 XT frm Asus should be coming out inabit, should be fun ...now can i have ur money?

u can turn off the onboard video.

Unless you go for something like the SN85G4 which has a built in card/stick reader, no onboard video but no optical out iirc. And it takes an Athlon 64 not P4, but they are just as good.
I dont like sig pics so i turn off sigs Which doesnt help when i dont know what ive written here! DOH!

No AMD, too many compatability issues in the past. I want Intel CPU and chipset.

Then definately a SB75G then. Canterwood is the best intel consumer chipset out at the moment. 2 Sticks of 512meg PC3500 upwards and your 3gig p4 and you'll be laughing. Then just get a 6/7 in 1 card reader for your 3.5" bay but youll loose the ability for 2 harddisks unless you buy an external usb cardreader.
I dont like sig pics so i turn off sigs Which doesnt help when i dont know what ive written here! DOH!

But no optical support which is lame in my view considering the Realteck chip supports it. Is there any headers on the motherboard that look like they could take SP/DIF?

Uh, where u from? You can get PC3200, 3500, 3700, 4000 and even 4200 now iirc.

No idea about headers - try and find a review to see.
