Printer Recomendations?

Hey all, Im looking to buy a new printer, since my last died (after only about a year of light work, damn that Epson Durabrite ink) but not sure what to get, as Ive started to hear more reports of Epsons being a problem (I was specifically looking at the R200 / R300 models)

So, can anyone recommend a printer of the same print quality / price as the R200 (or R300) Epson, but that doesnt seem to block up, screw up, or just plain die after a short life? (And of course, cheap carts are always something to bare in mind hehe)

I've had an Epson for three years and its never put a foot wrong, I'd look at another epson or maybe an HP/Canon if your after another brand.

After some research I decided on the canon ip4000. i came from a hp laserjet 4l which had troubles with ink and paper loading - ended up that you had to feed it one sheet at a time.
The canon is a breath of fresh air. Paper tray loading as well as top loading, cd/dvd printing and something I find so useful duplex printing.
Ive done some intensive printing and yet to dent the ink cartridges.

Canon all the way. The last 3 epsons ive had have all failed within about a year.

I have had a Cannon printer for the past two years and it is fast and reliable. Cannon original Ink is cheap and lasts a long time, I have also tried low cost substitute ink and it is even cheaper, though a bit messy, and works just as well.

Mine is an i850, which obvously has been superceeded for a while, but I would recomend another Cannon to anyone who asks.

Epson r200 or r300, and Cannon ip4000, are the most popular.
The Cannon seems to be a bit better.

Another vote for Canon printers. Their entire range is very good (inkjet anyway - not sure about their lasers) and worth looking at. It's great to have another company in the inkjet game - previously it was a 2 horse race with Epson and HP. For too long they abused their monopoly and ramped up cartridge prices.
