Zone Alarm for the Firewall..but look elsewhere for a decent anti-virus. Nod32 certainly takes my vote. For user friendliness, try Norton on for size..but expect a slightly slower system.
I'm using ZoneAlarm firewall and AVG for antivirus.
ZoneLabs are now doing a package - firewall, antivirus and other bits I think.
Kerio Firewall is good but the free version is about to be discontinued (Dec 05).
Windows XP firewall, NAT router & AVG free
Bring it on :)
Zonealarm's an adequately capable firewall for the average PC. If you want real security get a harware firewall/router solution. As for AV, Nod32, F-Secure are good. I'm not however a fan of AVG, we've had rpobs with it at work being unable to disinfect or quarantine infected PC's.
On a couple of occasions i've had both AVG and Avast (both free versions) running on machines (two different ones) to disinfect and the AVG would stop the virus first but YMMV.Quote:

Nod32, F-Secure or Kaspersky - this got a good review on website recently.
Hardware firewall is best option in blocking incoming data to your host but use Zonealarm (free) to block outgoing connections and prevent unauthorised TCP sessions.
