    software loading sequence

hi guys and gals, seeing as the bits for my new rig arrive on monday i thought i'd ask your advice.

what is the best sequence to load software onto a virgin rig?

    components

    venice 3000
    asus a8n sli mobo
    1Gb ram
    6600gt
    aopen dvdrw dl
    80Gb hd

so i guess i'll have mobo drivers, sata drivers, gfx drivers(which are the best for the 6600gt btw?) and windows to load up

    but which way?

    many thanks

    deano

Well I usually draft Doom3 over by DOS promt from the DVD drive...then I install windows

    Heh the Sequence I do:

    Windows
    Nvidia latest drivers
    DX9.0C
    Components left to be installed
OS tweaks (memory, device manager, startup and services, and desktop setup)
    Norton/Randomly good security +anti-v.
    Liarfox and Chunderbird
    Setup Email account
    Office
    Photoshop
    WinRAR/Zip
    Xvid/DivX - K-Lite codec pack
    WinDVD and Nero.
Spybot and WinASO - Scan through, remove spyware, speed up system then reboot.
    Personal Documents
    Games.

Thats pretty much it im sure.

build systems for friends so ive installed windows many times.
I find the best sequence is as follows
make sure you dont have the computer connected to the internet initially

    -Windows
-Acronis Trueimage (I like to create an image of the system freshly installed in case any software conflicts arise, i can always go back)
    -Motherboard drivers
    -graphics drivers
    - DX9
    - spybot search and destroy (do a search and fix the 5 problems DSO exploit which is there with a fresh installation of windows, also immunize your system)
    - Nod32 antivirus
    - Zone alarm
After this I connect to the internet and update spybot nod32 and zone alarm
    - Winrar Getdiz and everything else
i make another image using trueimage at this point in case any future programs or viruses bork up the computer.

I would use the WHQL drivers for both off the Nvidia site before trying any of the beta drivers from Guru3d
