Looking for a decent printer want to know if there's any particularly good ones (or bad ones to avoid). Nothing flashy just something that does the job quite well.

Go for an HP, i've had cannon lexmark and epson printers that have all gone wrong, my HP's lasted the longest and was the cheapest.
I'd throroughly recommend the Canon IP4000 (prints direct to cd/dvd, auto duplex and it's not greedy on the ink either). I think there's an updated model out - IP4050?
EDIT: Not sure there is a newer model (after a dig in Google). Amazon sell the IP4000 for about £105 http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/...994673-6312403,
though I think you can get it cheaper than £100 new elsewhere.

Really comes down to what sort of volume you expect to do.
For light use the HP PSC (Printer, Scanner, Copier) range are good - they start from about £55.
Cheers, reckonI'll go for slighlty cheap HP.
I have a nice HP one, was about £70 IIRC. Works so much better than my previous epson printers, and the ink lasts longer.
I second the canon ip4000 think its great. Plus I got it for £89.99 from currys i think or .. dixons.. one of the high street places. If you ordered it online you got the cheap price with free 3 day delivery. Not sure if this deal is still going.
