    Is this a good deal?

Been on the phone to dell trying a get a quick good deal for a mate who needs a PC in a hurry. Seem's Dell are more flexible on spec and price than i previously thought.

The one we are looking at is Dimension 9100, with a few adjustments to the spec and a bit of blagging on the price compared to whats actually stated on the website.

Take a look at this spec (no monitor or speakers included)...

    Pentium 4 630 (3Ghz, 800FSB, 2MB cache)
1024 MB DDR400 Dual channel RAM
    Nvidia 256MB 6800
    x16 DVD writer
    160 GB SATA Harddrive
    Standard Modem/mouse/keyboard
XP Home/works suite/90's of norton internet security, power DVD blah blah

The total cost is £640 Inc VAT and delivery. How does that sound? To me it looks ok (i think i could build one better, just don't have the time) but i have not bought a prebuilt PC for years or from dell.

Sounds alrite, Ive got a similar system (x300 instead of 6800) for work and its fine. Does that price include a monitor? cause some of the dell 1s are reasonably good.

Try places like scan or mesh and see what they can offer.
I looked at scans prebuilt systems and they are way more expensive for a simular spec. Odd concidering thier componants are so reasonable.
