    what will they come up with next

    you can buy bloodpressure things in boots and places and i suppose its a great idea etc for people who have to check their pressure and i suppose the pc can note down the results and show graphs etc

    these automated BP monitors are actually not that great. if you want accurate BP readings then get yourself a mercury 'sphygmomanometer' (yes its a long word - its just one of those things the GP straps round your arms and pumps like crazy...yeah, one of them) as these are the best. which is exactly why the NHS is phasing them out!! how utterly anal is that?! and they haven't found an adequate replacement either...one more bright idea for the health service - obviously thought up by some dick-head in a office at the top of a hospital that NEVER gets to see ill people and has NO CLUE aout medicine...
    their reason for phasing them out is that the mercury is a hazard, even though NO ONE has been hurt/made ill/mamed/disfigured/disemboweled etc. by these things ever the NHS still spends lots of money on things that just don't work.
    UNBELIEVABLE!!! well, I guess you can believe it when you realise how our nhs works. don't et me wrong it does do some fantastic things, but there are a ton of things it could do to save itsseelf from impending debt, i.e. not spend money needlessly!
