Gigabayte will release GA-8-N-SLI-QUAD Royal mobo, with option to take 4 gfx in SLI. it has nVidia chipset for Intel platform with old CK804 part of MCP who can do 32 PCI-e lines in combination 4x8 or 2x16!

If you really want 4x SLI, go and buy a Supermicro H8DCE, thats what you call beast.

actully, they make 8 processor optron boards IIRC, now, all you need then is 8 dual core 8 processor capable dual core optrons and....
And see if its possible to stick the dual-GPU graphics cards in there, so if it's possible to stick four of those in, in an 8-processor motherboard (lol getting ridiculous) thats 8 GPU's and 16 Cores.... and one very hot room

Does SLI actually work with more than 2 GPUs?
Well... now it does
SLI stands for 'scalable link interface' so if its scalable, it should therefore support more than 2 cards. Interestingly, some dual gpu cards include the pins needed to bridge the cards, though i'm not aware of anyone connecting 2 in SLI.
There is good review of this mobo at tom's hardware.
It has Intel and AMD chipset !? but it can't take AMD cpu's,and no nvidia support for quad SLI
but just look 10 monitors desktop space
