Chassix that are ATX & BTX compatible
I've been hearing lately about new computer cases that are compatible with both the ATX and BTX form factor. (Such as the Thermaltake "Tai-Chi" case.) Yes, the BTX motherboards aren't exactly available yet, but I'm considering this type of case so I can re-use it in a few years on systems that will likely be BTX.
So here are my questions:
- Have you seen any online reviews of these ATX/BTX cases? Are they any good? How do they rate?
- Will the BTX form factor take over eventually, (so that such an ATX/BTX case would be a smart buy now)? (I suspect the heat problem will be with us for a long time to come, and therefore perhaps also the BTX case, which is optimized to eliminate heat.)
- Even if the BTX form factor takes over eventually, perhaps there will be so many other changes in cases (such as new standards for water cooling, hard-drives, or USB ports???) that will make a current ATX/BTX case obsolete before it could ever be used for a BTX motherboard? In other words, is a BTX-compatibility for the future merely an empty promise that will not be realistically fulfilled?
