battlefield 2 rig needed! 1600*1200 challenge

I currently have a 2500XP athlon, 1 gig ram, and ATI 9700 radeon 128mb graphics card. Just bought a new 20" dell TFT, and want to run battlefield 2 at 1600*1200 (the native res of the TFT). Currently i am running it at 800*600 and it is ugly!

What beast rig would I need to get a decent performance (60fps av) at that res. I will be going the AMD route and will be overclocking as I want much bang for small bucks

wow thats a nice fps with that system, are you thinking of a complete rebuild? if so then go for a amd64 3500+ or more ,2 gig of ram if u can afford it cos it helps a lot with bf2 and something like a 6800gt or better ,i would go for nvidia atm cos they will be more future proof with their HDR , shader model 3.0 support.

2x1GiB PC3200 to PC4000 (any tier 1 or quality tier 2 brand would do ok).
Any card at least 6800GT or X800XL performance or higher, 7800GT would probably be the best bet if you want decent levels of AA and AF at 1600x1200 High detail.

If you need to save a bit more an X800GTO would do well.
