power button broke! :(

i was tidyin cables inside pc etc.. and must of put to much pressure on the front panel as the wires has broken from the power on switch ! so i cant turn my main pc on at the moment , i tried to super glue the wires back into the connectors on the back of the button but that didnt work out , any ideas!! help me! asap

Short the ends of the wires leading to the PWR ON connectors on the mobo. Then go and get a soldering iron (and possibly a new ATX power switch).

i'm not sure about this but is the power switch the same as a reset switch, put the reset jumper on the pwr on pin, then u can use the reset switch to turn the pc on.

i can't reember if the reset switch and pwr switch are the same tho :|

I just short the jumpers briefly on one of my servers as it doesnt currently have a box...hasn't done any harm so far :S

I short mine all teh time. Cause i dont use a case and boot mine up by shorting the jumper. Still going good. You best bet is solder them back, cant think of any other way

ja3h's idea will work You're probably not going to use the reset switch a lot anyway. Use that as the power button.

Just go into the BIOS and select it to boot when the PSU has power. That's what i set my servers to do in a power cut.

If you have a spare case you should beable to use the power switch from that. Just rip the old button off the switch and put it on the working one.
