    Hard Drive Caddies

Looking to get an external hard drive caddie and a nice big HD inside to store erm files lol. Mainly getting one instead of a flash drive that i would surely loose in a week.
A few questions. One i'm looking at this HD caddy http://www.overclockers.co.uk/acatal...ive_Racks.html the icy box black one with blue LEDs. Is it a good caddie ie keeps hard drive cool and fairly quiet also will it proctect the hard drive from any knocks it will get in my bag. Two being USB are they all just plug and play units or will drivers be needed on every PC/MAC i use it on. Three how much slower will the data transfer be down a USB 1.1/2.0 cable than if it was just connected with an IDE cable
Many questions but thanks for any response

On Windows 2000 onward and Mac OS 9 onward u wont need a driver. Fully plug and play. The transfer rate of USB 2.0 is ~30Mb/s i think
