No, because my last PSU was a Tagan as well! And I upgraded because I wanted a modular one, before you ask ;).Quote:

Ah, apoligies then :p
Often people who've just bought a PSU of a particular brand rave about how good it is, and I think "WTF?" you've had it for under 3 months, the damn things nearly always last that long. Its when you start to get into the long term, and compare it to what people on forums are also experiencing, that you get a proper sort of view of how good(good=reliable) a PSU is, imo :)
I've had my Tagen for 8 months and my power supply is cleaner and more solid than litterly any PSU I've owned in the past
3 systems.. 2 Tagan.. 1 ULTRA.... Can't say much about others from just reviews.. but Tagan sure is better than ULTRA.. that I'm sure..
My Hiper is rock solid, I overclock everyything and its been fantastic, no problems whatsoever, it comes in an amazing package and was soo easy to install. I only have tiny fluctuations in voltage, miles within the spec. It's a fantastic bit of kit and very quiet, mine glows too! Couldn't recommend more!
Im impressed with my Tagan, but as specofdust says, it's not had long enough to prove itself..
that said, i can vouch for 1 thing, Enermax are far from reliable (out of the 3 i've had, 2 died, and the 600watt I currently use, needs the tagans assistance)
Couple of years good enough for you?Quote:

Hmm, well I'm just going on personal experience, and what I've come across on forums, and all together thats left me more willing to reccomend an Antec or Enermax then a Tagan, although I agree, they are very good PSU's for the most part. But on another forum I was on, after a large number of people who had problems with some of them, they aquired the nickname Q-Tagan..so, my views explained :)
Seasonic are good too.
Do you guys know if a cheap (!!) PSU with a 12cm is quieter than a 80cm device?
I'm looking for replacement PSU (for a 400W machine), which is only really used for storage, but would like to leave on.
Thanks for any help
120mm are quieter than 80/90mm fan PSU's.
12cm will be significantly quieter.. but beware as going too low on RPMs will often leave some unwanted rattling sound on most 120mm fans.. (very annoying.. trust me.. I'd rather have a 30dB 4k RPM 80mm fan than a 600rpm rattling 120mm blower)Quote:

Kermit I'd say buy a Hiper, they're cheap, and I believe they have 120mm fans, but I'm not 100% sure on that. Other then that my reccomendation would be as always Antec. Do not buy a Q-tec, your stuff will explode, that is not a joke, they are the worst power supplies ever created.
The Seasonic have 120mm fans and came top of the pile in Custom PCS mag!
very true my hiper made a cricket noise when windows was idling, when I maxed the cpu the sound went away even they the fan was turning faster.Quote:

Adjustable fan speed on the back (so virtually silent) and cools your system after shutdown (fans stay running for 2 mins to expel warm air).
