    RAM Recommendations?

    Hi,

I currently have Corsair 1GB XMS3200 XL Pro TwinX

I bought this approx 3 months ago, and now it seems 2GB is the way to go for games etc. So should i sell this now when the price is still going good on this ram and get some less flashy 2GB (for about £200) or should i be waiting till prices on the 2GB comes down etc?

Bit confused about what i should do and any adivce would be great! Thanks!

    Thumbs up

Depends on whether you OC or not really. If you do then a high performance set of modules would be better to use. For a good OC'ing chip you need either Crucial Tracers, OCZ Plat EB (coming soon) or GSkillz EB modules (also coming somewhen soon)

If you don't OC then a nice set of Corsair XMS 3200 would do the biz in BF-2, F.E.A.R etc. (£200ish at SCAN)

Do you think its too early to be selling my 3 month old XL Pro TwinX ram though?

You might want to look at these puppies:

    Corsair 2GB DDR XMS3500LL Pro TwinX (2x1GB) CAS2 (MY-093-CS)

RAM may drop a bit, or it may go up a bit by Xmas. It'll prolly drop a bit by Spring, but who wants to wait that long?

Yeah, they'll just allow you an easy overclock without losing the low latency settings.

I guess a pair of Crucial would do, 1G per module. And latency doesn't matter much in game so no reason to pay for all the flashy Cas 2 stuff
