I need something that can take some knocks, but the smaller/sleeker the better too

So a disk drive is out of the question

most drives are fine for shocks + spills, as long as you don't drop them in something too hot (that pisses them right off).

tbh, get the cheapest ones u can, and get 3 or something.

you'll get em nicked, u'll get distracted and leave them on a machine. u'll be down at the pub, and something in ur back pocket will be pissing you off.........

I've never damaged a drive, and i've damaged a lot of stuff i keep on my person!

compared to a mobile phone, even the cheapest drive is indestructable.

Good advice! Who cares what they look like so long as they work! (Slim ones are good though as they will physically fit more USB ports as an earlier poster pointed out). I just use the freebies I get at trade shows!
