CPU problem :(
I cant get my motherboard to recognise my XP2000+, I can get it to recognise it as an Athlon XP (by setting VCore [I think] to 1.6v)
but only ever comes up as 1250MHz, and I cant get the system to boot.
any ideas? im completely lost here :(
Motherboard: Soltek SL75-FRN-L

Have you checked the fsb? It is more then likely that the board is running it at 100fsb when it needs to be at 133 :D. Give it a try :D.

thats got it recognised as a 2000+ (I went and checked after id posted... DUH :S)
but in windows (havent check anywhere else) on the my computer properties screen it shows up as an AMD Athlon XP 1.25GHz.
Do I need to change something in the BIOS? (never dabbled with o/cing etc.

Should be fine then :D, Try SiSoft sandra or something similiar to get an indication of actual clock speed, should be around 1.6ghz (dont hold me to that)
-
should be 1.667Ghz, is it a thourghbred or a palomino coz the vcore for pal is 1.75 i think.
If it picks it up on boot as a 2000 it should be fine. Get WCPUID and check

according to the way my manual describes how to work the voltage out t should be at 1.6v
