Best way to overclock a p4 2.4c 533

These are my system specs for my comp i was hoping somone mite know how to overclock a the processor futher

not quite sure what your expecting for an answer.

You have made a good start on that 2.4 getting it to 2.89. Is that all you can reach using you current cooler ? If not keep going test for stability when you overclock further.
You could see about lowering memory timings, for a small increase, again you need to test for stability.

Well you know your multiplier is locked so all you can do is up the FSB a bit at a time and see how stable you can keep it. Keep the RAM synced to FSB (1:1, 3:3 etc) and it shouldn't become limiting (PC3200 can run up to 200FSB), but I would keep timings (latency) set to AUTO/SPD. Ensure you have PCI/AGP locked at 33/66 too. There are a few obscure BIOS settings which can help or hinder o/c'ing but they shouldn't play a big part, just disable Spread Spectrum really. When you find the fastest stable speed you should back off a bit to ensure long term stability and minimise stress. Although you could try a better cooler or try upping the voltage slightly but voltage adds a lot more heat and stress.

If you're o/c'ing with gaming in mind you'll get much bigger gains by o/c'ing your gfx card.

Could you just confirm if you've got a 2.4c as in the 800fsb part of the 2.4b 533fsb part.

It would help identify what you should be expecting as your overclock. as there is no such thing as a 2.4c 533fsb....

2.4c = 800Mhz FSB ---- multiplier = 12 x 200 = 2400
2.4b = 533Mhz FSB ---- multiplier = 18 x 133 = 2400
2.4a = 400Mhz FSB ---- multiplier = 24 x 100 = 2400

BTW I just got a 2.4c (800) in yesterday. I set the voltage to 1.6v (since my IC-7 seems to under volt about .05) Anyway, I just cranked up the FSB to 292 right off the bat and to my amazement I hit 3.5Ghz 1st try!!! I had set FSB:dram to 3:2 since I only have some PC3200. Anyway, click my sig picture for more details. I may try a squeeze a little more out of out but I've heard of too many people hitting over 300Mhz FSB and I am only on air cooling.
