Anyone used an ASrock 939Dual mobo?

    Hey guys

Ive had some issues with my AV8 motherboard and I am busy trying to get it RMA'd through Komplett. In the mean time I am busy looking for a new motherboard. My dilemma being ive just spent a couple of hundred quid on a 6800GT AGP version but I dont wanna have to buy another AGP board. Enter the ASRock 939Dual board that has both PCI-E and AGP slots... ideal for the situation I am in... BUT, is it too good to be true

Does anyone have one of these or working experience with one? WHat they like, worth £50 of my money?

    Chris

ASrock doesn't have a good reputation as a performance board manufacturer. And i've seen 2-3 blown up after 2-3 months. So better not to touch them.
    Primary kit:
    Fuji S5 Pro - Nikkor AF 50/1.8 - Nikkor AF 85/1.8
    Epson RD-1

    Film Kit:
    Leica M3 - Summicron 50/2 DR - Zeiss ZM 25/2.8 - M-Rokkor 40/2

    Olympus OM2n - Zuiko 50/2 Macro - Zuiko 50/1.4 - Zuiko 35/2.8

Ahh well ive ordered one, seems to have some pretty good reviews and it being the budget line of Asus I didnt think that its build would be shoddy... I know a guy who has one and has said that as a stop gap between AGP and PCI-E it seems ok... I was just seeing if anyone else has used this board to get further opinions. I normally would have steered clear of a lesser named motherboard manufacturer but having had problems with Abit... im kind of confused as to what exactly is and isnt very good.

Ive heard theyre really good, one review site got the best overclock from their chip out of any of the other 939 boards! good features, cheap price, all adds up to a great deal.

i've had a asrock p4v88 (478) worked a treat and great features for the price.

I would also go for an Asrock. I think times of shoddy manufacture are greatly exaggerated/over - the reviews have been almost universally glowing.

Yeah thatsd what I noticed too.... I built a system years ago with an ASrock board and it looked cheap and nasty. But this board seems to have suprised everyone from enthusiasts to general budget users. And all for £52.65p, what a bargain!

I am [pondering that MOBO as well. Have a rig running an asrock MOBO that acts as a server, has been running 24/7 for a couple of years. Done a couple of memory and chip upgardes on it, never had any problems.

Cheers mate, what CPU you getting?

I will carry my 9800pro AIW, and geil 3200ddr across with me. Big plus for me is that if I go PCI-E at some point I can keep the 9800 pro and use the AIW side of it.
