Athlon XP 2500+ Mobile Chip Cooler Recommendations needed.

    I've got the following:

    Gigabyte GA-7N400 Pro2 motherboard (Socket A, 462)
AMD athlon XP 2500+ Mobile Chip

Looking to overclock chip to 3200+ or 3400+

Can anyone recommend a good cooler for this chip which will fit on this motherboard.

Did look at the Zalman 7000 series but it seems like it won't fit on this board according to the Zalman site.

Any recommendation welcome and where to get the cooler from would be even more welcome.

    Thanks

Thermalright Si-97 & appropriate fan would probably be best but it won't be the cheapest & tbh is overkill for a simple overclock to 3200 or 3400

    MSI P55-GD80, i5 750
    abit A-S78H, Phenom 9750,

You wouldn't need a very good cooler to get it stable at 3200+ or 3400+ as the mobile athlon chips can reach that on stock voltage or only a slight increase.

Best to go for something quiet and efficient as that will do the job you want better than most massive monster coolers. My vote is for the si-97 with a nice papst or panaflo fan but that isn't so cheap...

Will think of some quiet cheap ones now

    Damn... I can't believe it...

    http://www.thermalright.com/a_page/m...board_si97.htm

Seems like my motherboard is the ONLY board this will not fit on

Needs to work with the GA-7N400 Pro2

Any other suggestions.... Please, Please .... I have a motherboard and CPU just sitting there waiting for a cooler

What can this CPU do with HSF cooling ?

Nope that one doesn't seem to be for Socket A, 462 .

In your sig it says that you have an AthlonXP-M@2.3 what are you using to cool it and is it any good ?

Anyone used Thermaltakes Big Typhoon Cooler... anyone know if it will fit in my board?
