Will this system make lots of noises?

    hi

notice many people say their system is very quiet, water cooling Graphic Card, Fanless PSU, heatsink, ......
i got non of the above, and i saw pic of my Graphic card, it has a fan (havnt seen the actual system yet)

which of the following situation will apply to my pc system:

    A. Normal-- power tower 50cm (20 inch) from the bed, some noise at the background, but not draw my attention, can sleep well.
    B. Noisy--, power tower 6-7feet away, notice the noise sometime but still at a background level , can still sleep
C.Very noisy---always think the power tower should be some where outside the room, keep loosing consentration, keep loosing hair, difficult to fall asleep or insomnia

i usually switch off pc 1-2 times per month, hopefully my new system is a good one

By the way, i will put a 400w PSU with 24pin connector on this system, can anyone suggest if is suitable?

The thing is, you actually havent listed the things that will make the noise.
OK, the single Maxtor drive should be fine, but what we need to know is::

    What case?
WHICH PSU (not just the watts)?
    Who makes the graphics card?
What fan on the P4? The stock one, or are you getting a different one?

These are the devices with fans on, and its the fans (mostly) that make the noise.

Some people could argue that the Maxtor hard drive isnt the quietest, but to be honest my 250GB model is fine, it's my combination of 3 hard drives that makes the noise / vibration.
I'm getting an Antec P180 case, due to arrive today.

You will also need to tell us how many case fans ur running, and which brand.. if its one of thermaltake or those antec backfires.. then you're going to have a fun time 'feeling the noise'.

I have 2 maxtor drives and its almost driving me nuts, the noise of two of them added up in RAID is like rediculous.. but they are pretty fast.. ehehe

Other than that, unless your 6600 was made by pete-o-farmer, it shouldnt be too noisy..

Probably the noisiest thing in there will be the fan on the grphics card and the cpu, you can find passively cooled (no fan 6600 for not a huge premium) and a quiet cpu cooler shouldnt set you back more than about 25 quid.

I'm not too familiar with the items you have chosen, but a quick search suggests the case is fairly quiet:

    http://www.cooltechzone.com/index.ph...1&limitstart=6

For my Geforce 6800 i got an arctic cooling fan (use this one for a 6600

    http://www.arctic-cooling.com/vga2.php?idx=62

which i am very impressed with. Cost a bit over a tenner from what i recall.
Very cool temps, very quiet, and importantly (unlike my previous Zalman which was also very good) it expells hot air outside of the case rather than allowing hot air to build up inside.

For general quiet computing however, you must read http://www.silentpcreview.com/
