Cordless gaming – advice please

Hi

I would like a cordless mouse and keyboard for mainly gaming and some AutoCAD.
At the moment I am thinking of the

Logitech G7 Cordless Laser Mouse
Logitech G15 Keyboard

because I cannot find a cordless keyboard for gaming.

I also like the MX1000 cordless laser mouse.

So basically I’d like advice on a good gaming keyboard
preferably cordless

The MX1000 is a great mouse, some have complained about the weight, but I haven't found it to be a problem. Simply awesome when twinned with my Icemat v2

I have just be told by a friend that a normal keyboard and mouse will be just fine for gaming and
that spending the extra on special ones is excessive !

Totally true, get a keyboard that's going to be comfortable & mouse likewise. Personally, I'm a huge fan of Logitech rodents, always quality & very comfortable to use for long periods of time. As for Keyboards, microsoft are as good as anybody, I've used their narural models for many years (in fact I still have a serial version), But I've started using a Saitek gamers model at home & it's got one of the smoothest actions of any board I've used, albeit a conventional layout.

if you take it apart you can take the weights out of it, no thats not a joke it actually has weights in it!

and personally i dont like wireless for gaming or CAD, the batteries run out at the worst possible times, maybe its just me but i have had wireless mice run out of power in the middle of sniping far too many times

Does anyone know of a wireless KVM solution that doesn't cost hundreds of pounds?
I want to set up an LCD keyboard and mouse about 20 feet away from the PC - I don't really want to run cables that far
Also, is there any lag with longer distance wireless that might make playing games a bit annoying?

Keyboard yes. Only spend if you like the looks od the backlit ones.

Mouse, depends on what you play. Anything FPS-like and precision is worth it. But if you get any of the mid-range Logitechs, you get a mouse that's great for everyday use and good enough for any but the most hardened gamer.
