    TFT on a budget!

    Hi!

I'm looking to replace my CRT with a 17" TFT. I do a lot of gaming and graphical work so it needs to be pretty decent, and I want all that on a budget, lol! I spoteed this from the lovely people at Scan,

I was wondering if anyone has any experience of this or could recommend a different one for a similair price, thanks!

I'm in the same situation, but have managed to grab one for not very much from my Dad (he is upgrading with Dell, and gets another TFT in the deal).

If you are really on a budget you might be able to get something cheaper/better spec if you go for VGA only. I'm told the import duty is much higher on TFTs with DVI, and most reviews seem to say that VGA is just as good as DVI these days anyway. Having said that, I'd rather have DVI!

Anyhow, can't really comment til I pick up my Dell one.. I'd be interested to hear what anyone else has to say on the VGA/DVI issue though.

VGA has been seen to be as good on some monitors as the DVI input, though varies from screen to screen. I personally have used both, and havent really seen much difference.(having said that I only used the DVI monitor briefly, so people correct me if you've had more experience) I've got an LG L1715S and found it great to work with, thats got VGA only.

Sorry to hijack the thread, but I'll add my request too

I'm looking for a 1600x1200 TFT too... 17" or 19"... Anyone know of any cheap ones which are of good quality?

Actually, you could also look at Aldi 'cos just got back from there and they had 19" TFT monitors with 8ms response time and DVI input for £199.99

1600x1200 is very rare on a 19" TFT, the standard being 1280x1024. Youd most likely be looking for a 20" before you get to that resolution, and they cost more. Sorry.

U will not get a 1600x1200 19", unless its specialist. U WILL have to go to 20" for that. For all monitors i suggest Dell

But all the Dell monitors I've seen have really high response times, I want something which you can game on!
