    Question emachines 810 psu

PSU failed. Replaced and now cpu fan starts as soon as machine is plugged in.

    Power switch has no effect.

Even starts fan when power switch lead is removed from motherboard.

All other peripherals do not start, nothing on monitor.

    Any ideas?

Try taking the machine out of the pc and put it on a table or something with nothing in the board then try to "jump" start it , maybe there is a short somewhere in the case

    Unhappy

I assume you meant take the m'board and the psu out of the case and connect up on the bench and see if I have the same problem.

I do. I was wondering if there is a jumper setting on the m'board for 'always-on' operation?
